Women’s Global Empowerment Initiative (WGEI), is a women-led organization advancing equity for women and girls, is partnering with Creative Corner Foundation (CCF) to deliver digital literacy to children in rural Southwest Region communities.
Digital Horizons for Rural Youth targets children aged 8–15 with hands-on workshops in basic coding, internet safety, digital storytelling, and creative tools. The project aims to reach 500+ participants in year one, improving education access, confidence, and future opportunities.
WGEI leads with a gender-sensitive approach:
- Ensuring equal participation, especially for girls
- Challenging traditional roles through inclusive content
- Designing curriculum and mobilizing trainers
- Providing support (childcare, transport) for full family engagement
CCF contributes local expertise, implementation in schools and community centres, and integration of creative arts to make learning engaging.
This collaboration bridges the digital divide, promotes sustainable impact, and demonstrates how women-led leadership drives inclusive community change.
